NDC Regional Chair elected to represent Ahafo Region on Council of State

Mr Yaw Okyere, the Ahafo Regional Chair of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was on Tuesday elected as the Member of the Council of State for the Region. 
In an election organised and supervised by the Electoral Commission at Goaso, the regional capital, Mr Okyere secured six votes to beat his keen contender Mr Abraam Agyemang who had four votes out of the 12 votes cast. 
In all eight people contested the elections, held at the Goaso Pastoral Center, and recorded two rejected ballots. 
Prior to the elections, Mr Okyere called the delegates to vote for him to enable him to represent and front the development of the region. 
Other contestants included Bukari Zakari Anaba, Kwabea Appeagyei, Sir Shai Agyemang, Brobbey Nkrumah, Yvonne Opoku Kwarteng, Barima Twireko.
