MTN MoMo reaffirms commitment to improving online financial security

Mr Razak Issaka Ali, the Chief Commercial Officer of the MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) Limited, has re-affirmed the company’s commitment to ensuring a more secured financial security in digital transaction space.  
  
He urged MoMo users and businesses to upload the new MTN Momo App, saying with the use of the App, the customers were more secure in transacting businesses online.  
  
Mr Ali gave the advice in an interview with the media at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region after the company rewarded Mr Emmanuel Ansu Gyeabour, a-21-year-old mobile phone repairer in the town.  
  
The laureate was recognized as the ‘one million Momo App customer’, and a cash prize of GHC10,000 and other souvenirs from the MTN Momo.  
  
MoMo is a service offered by MTN Ghana that allows users to manage finances, make payments, and conduct other transactions using their mobile phones.  
  
Mr Ali said: “The use of the MoMo App is easier, much simpler and faster to use, and comes with the best security technology including two factor authentication and we are also re-introducing more security including biometric”.  
  
“In fact, every time we are doing updates on the App to protect our customers”, he stated, and urged MoMo users, yet to download the App to do so for their own good.”  
  
Mr Haruna Shaibu, the Chief Executive Officer, MTN MoMo, said currently MoMo had more than 17 million customers, from wallet to savings, investments, and payments.  
  
He added that since its introduction MoMo had made online transactions convenient and faster, thereby spurring businesses growth and economic development, and acknowledged and recognized the business community in the Dormaa Central Municipality for using the MTN MoMo.  
  
Mr Gyeabour told the GNA that many people in Dormaa-Ahenkro had embraced MTN Ghana and urged the company to improve network coverage.
