Akan NPP urges calm in the constituency.

Date:

Mr. Frank Adjei-Worlanyo, the Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akan Constituency, has called on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to give peace a chance amid recent tensions.

His appeal follows the barricading of the offices of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Manager and the District Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Monday, September 15.

The action was reportedly carried out by a group believed to be affiliated with the NDC.

The group, led by Mr. Sampson Quarshiga, the NDC Youth Organizer for Akan, claimed the appointments to those positions were made without consulting the party hierarchy.

Mr. Adjei-Worlanyo described the barricading as unwarranted and unnecessary and urged the aggrieved parties to opt for peaceful dialogue to address their concerns and avoid actions that could disrupt harmony in the Constituency.
