Catholic Church baptises 70 parishioners in Takoradi

Date:

Seventy parishioners, both young and old, of the Mary Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral in Takoradi, have been baptised into the Catholic faith.

One hundred and ten others have also received their first communion to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Reverend Fr Peter Keito, the Cathedral Administrator, called on Christians, especially Catholics, to let the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ transform their lives to become true children of God and followers of Christ.

He tasked them to focus on the ultimate, which is the Salvation that Jesus Christ’s crucifixion brought, rather than on earthly and material things.

He said true a Christian should be exhibiting forgiveness, love for one another, living in peace with neighbours and doing the will of God, which were the tickets to heaven.

“God does not discriminate no matter one’s background, you only need to believe and have faith in Jesus and you will receive all the grace and blessings due you,” Rev. Fr Keito said.

He tasked the newly baptised to be regular in church to enable them to learn all the teachings and doctrines to grow spiritually.
