Charles Onuawonto Bissue, a candidate for New Patriotic Party (NPP) general secretary, has withdrawn from this weekend’s polls.
The party’s former Western Region Secretary declared his candidacy to challenge incumbent John Boadu.

But Mr. Bissue announced on Wednesday, July 13, a few days before the election, that he would no longer run.
He had the fourth-highest vote total.
