Custom officer perishes in an accident

 A 30 year old Customs officer stationed at Aflao, Alexander Atiso lost his life in a road accident at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region on the Accra- Kumasi highway.

      According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Mr Francis Gomado, the deceased was driving a Toyota Matrix with registration number GR-310-09 from Kumasi towards Accra and on reaching a section of the road at Nkawada Number two (2) collided head on with a Mitsubishi Pajero with registration number GW-1321-X driven by a 60 year old man identified as Mr Godwin K. Sherrie.
     The Customs officer and two occupants of the Mitsubishi Pajero sustained injuries and were rushed to Kenop Care Hospital for treatment but Atiso died shortly on arrival.
     The two injured passengers were treated and discharged.
     He said the vehicles involved in the accident had been impounded for examination, while the body of the deceased has been kept in the same hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
    The driver of the Pajero is assisting the police in investigations.
