ECG warns of extreme caution as heavy rains disrupt distribution systems and cause power outages

Date:

There is a power outage in parts of the Greater Accra Region following Wednesday’s heavy rains.

The development according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is a result of disruptions in its distribution systems caused by the rainstorm.

ECG in a statement is thus cautioning the public “to be extremely careful not to touch or step on loose or fallen electrical conductors since they could be live”.

While regretting the inconvenience caused, the ECG advised that persons encountering any challenges to report for the appropriate response action to be taken.

In the meantime, ECG engineers are working assiduously to rectify the faults and restore power supply.
