Martinez spilled a deflected Harvey Elliott cross over the line against Liverpool and now boasts the unfortunate honour of being the goalkeeper with the most own goals to his name (three) in Premier League history.
Martinez’s mistake against Liverpool did end up costing Villa, despite Unai Emery’s side battling back from 3-1 down to claim a share of the points courtesy of Jhon Duran’s late brace.
