Eric Sekyi Nketia has withdrawn from the campaign for NPP flagbearer.

Date:

Eric Sekyi Nketia, a candidate in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, has resigned from the contest, alleging unfair treatment.

Eric Sekyi Nketia, a senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, expressed his desire to run in the NPP Presidential Primaries and lead the party into the 2024 election in April of this year.

Eric Sekyi Nketia claims that despite the fact that the party had opened nominations, he was not permitted to choose forms on three separate occasions.

He claims that a petition to the General Secretary and the Chairman of the National Council over his treatment has been ineffective.

He is therefore withdrawing from the race to allow others to contest.
