Residents of Ablekuma Manhean seek increased police patrols following a woman’s death.

Residents of Ablekuma Manhean in the Ga West Municipality are requesting more security from the police.

The death of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly murdered and placed into a drain on Thursday, June 23, 2022, is followed by this.

Eyewitnesses said the hands of the deceased were tied with wounds on her toes.

Speaking to Citi News, some of the residents of the area, asked that the police mount a number of police checkpoints in the community to control crime.

“We will be very happy if the police mount a barrier or a security camera in the area. Crime has been happening for so long, so they should do something to protect us”, one resident said.

For another, “If they build a police station for us, it will help us because everyone is complaining about the insecurity in this area, so the police can patrol here day and night.”

The situation has left many within the Ablekuma Manhean community in a state of shock.

 

Speaking to Citi News, Hawa Usman narrated that “my child was the first person to see the body. She was waiting for a friend to walk to school together. But upon getting to the place, she noticed the body of the lady and came home to inform me.”
