The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated Hasaacas Ladies FC on winning both the Women’s Premier League (WPL) and the Women’s FA Cup.
Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa in the WPL and the FA to win double in the 2020/21 season to represent Ghana in Africa.
In view of this, SWAG called on the government to provide the team with the necessary assistance as they prepare for the first ever zonal qualifiers for the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League in Cote D’Ivoire this month.
It said, “Ghana as one of the fore-bearers of women football in Africa need to make a strong statement at the first ever competition.
“And they cannot do this without the needed financial assistance, hence our call on government to see every bit of their participation ahead of the competition.”
SWAG is optimistic government will come on board to support the team for the competition.
