The NPP delegates must choose a flagbearer with vision. Political science

Date:

Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante, a lecturer in political science at the University of Ghana (UG), is urging the 900 New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to carefully consider the qualifications of the 10 potential flagbearer candidates before casting their ballots.

Dr. Asah-Asante is of the opinion that choosing the finest candidates for the presidential primaries in November requires evaluating the creative ideas of the 10 flagbearer contenders.

The lecturer in political science made these remarks in response to the Extraordinary Delegates Conference, which will take place on August 26.

In a Citi News interview, Dr. Asah-Asante listed a few things to watch out for.

“What they [delegates] must be interested in should be a candidate who has what it takes to win power for them [the NPP] and this means a candidate who has ideas and knows the problems of the party and the state at large.”
