Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, but face a steep asking price which sources claim is around £80 million.
Semenyo, 25, has impressed this season, recording nine goal contributions in nine appearances. Bournemouth, who rejected reported €57 million (£50m) bids from both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur last summer, are determined to maximise his sale after tying him to a new contract.
The £80 million figure highlights the high cost of acquiring proven Premier League talent. Semenyo’s fit within the system of manager Arne Slot is considered “ideal” by some figures at Anfield, but the decision will test the club’s financial valuation of the Ghana international, particularly in the run-up to the January transfer window.
