OpenLabs holds its second exhibition for 60 graphic designers in Tema

Date:

OpenLabs Ghana, the country’s leading provider of Information Technology (IT) education, hosted a Graphic Design Exhibition to give 60 students who had completed a six-month Graphic Design training program at the Institute the opportunity to showcase their works and ideas.

Making a total of 100 students who participated in the exhibition two years in a roll, gave students the opportunity to prospect for clients and receive feedback from the public in order to improve their skills. Some of the students who displayed their work stated that the training they received will help them establish themselves as entrepreneurs as well as fit into the job market.

Imelda Laryea, Head, OpenLabs – Tema Campus in an interview with the B&FT, urged that with technology rapidly changing the landscape of the workforce, employers worldwide are seeking a labor force that is increasingly digitally skilled.

“New tools and software are emerging, and it is critical to learn how to use these tools to improve your work and satisfy clients. What the Ghanaian workforce really needs is an adaptable set of skills that will ensure their digital readiness and that is what OpenLabs seeks to achieve in the coming years,” she said.

Ms. Laryea indicated that OpenLabs is ready to partner with public and private institutions to train their employees in basic IT skills as well as emerging technologies such as Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Digital marketing, and more.

OpenLabs, which has campuses in Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale, currently trains students in cutting edge IT programs such as Software Development, Digital Design, Robotics among others.
